I'm thankful that God constantly extends an invitation to us to come to Him. The number of times we have failed Him, sinned against Him, complained about the circumstances He chose for us-- NONE of that causes God to turn away and withdraw His open, welcoming arms. Still He simply says, "Come to Me". (Isaiah 55:1,3; Matthew 11:28)
He knows all about us, and He says come anyway. His graciousness, patience, and loving-kindness beckons us, and assures us that He won't change His mind. His words draw us to Him.
"Now return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness." Joel 2:13
James 4:8 "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
The Lord Jesus Christ purchased this "anytime" access to God as our Father, when he paid for all our sins on the cross. And now those who trust in Christ alone can come to God, freely, boldly, and with confidence as beloved children.
"Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16
That should fill our hearts with thanksgiving today.
